When I press the multimedia volume + and volume - buttons in my laptop the On Screen Display OSD (slider) indicator comes up to show the volume level. I think the size of this indicator is too large. Especially, when I am watching a movie it kind of takes up lot of screen space. May be two options:

1. reduce the size of this OSD 
2. make it (semi-)transparent
3. Move the OSD slider bottom
4. Configuration file in ~/.kde directory to have set size of slider

In KDE4.2 the OSD is done by KMix and it is much smaller. Please also see bug 128874.
