Description Stephan Sokolow 2006-07-17 04:30:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.4.5 (Gentoo 3.4.5-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
OS: Linux

On my system, khtml fails to find the glyphs for certain common characters even when correctly encoded. (especially typographical punctuation such as quotes and single-character ellipses)

Because Konqueror doesn't freeze for up to a minute, I know it isn't searching for alternate fonts to pull them from. (It also helps that Firefox does display them properly without having to resort to font substitution)

Interestingly, they do display properly when bold if the site uses something like " :hover { font-weight: bold; }" in the CSS.

Below I will attempt to provide some example characters.
