In my Contact List preferences (under Appearance in Kopete settings), I have unchecked "Animate changes to contact list items".  Unfortunately, whatever code animates these changes ignores this.  Any changes (people coming/going on/offline) leads to roughly 10 seconds of flickering as Kopete flashes the contact icon from the old to the new state.

I have also dechecked fold and fade in/out contacts as they appear / disapear.  These preferences appear to be respected.

WORKSFORME with Kopete 0.12.0. When this option is enabled, contacts are blinking when they change their state, when it is disabled this effect is turned off as expected.

Please reopen this bug if you can reproduce it with the current Kopete release.

Kopete 0.12.3 under KDE 3.5.5.

I have all the animation preferences dechecked, but contacts going on/off line still causes the blinking.  Wtf!

Can reproduce on kopete 0.50.80. Not even restarting kopete after setting the option helps.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
