Version:           1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)

I am using IMAP and I have server side filters set up.  When I get new mail in folders other than my Inbox, the new mail notification does not work.  The new mail notification does work for new mail in my Inbox.

Is it possible that you have deactivated the notification in the settings for 
the other folders?

I have the option "Act on new/unread mail in this folder" enabled on every folder.

I can confirm this on KMail 1.9.1 and KDE 3.5.2 installed from Gentoo ebuilds.
