Description Thomas Zander 2006-06-26 08:40:25 UTC
Version: 0.11.2 (using KDE 3.5.3, compiled sources)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.13.2

Some time ago I got a dialog stating someone added me to his/her list of contacts and requested authorization.
The dialog had a checkbox to add the contact to my addressbook.

Problems I have with that dialog:
* I don't remember exactly but I am pretty sure that there was no protocol named in it.
* No real name, no email address or whatever else was shown.
* The dialog stated 'addressbook'. Which to me is KAddressBook and I unchecked it.  I was very very disappointed when the contact didn't show up in my _contacts_ list. (which IMO should be mandatory, I can always delete later).

I'm left with an nagging feeling that that nice lady I met on my travels added me to her msn list, but I have no email address or any other way to contact her, while she obviously thinks I have that info. :(

Screenshot of the dialog

Not all protocol use the same dialog (for history reason). But the dialog that
should be used in the futur for all protocol is shown in the screenshot i've
attached.

What's wring with it ?	all information which is available is shown there.

My main problem; the wording being 'addressbook' instead of 'contactlist' is not present in this dialog. So thats good.

I think the checkbox to allow a user to add the contact to his/her contactlist should not be supplied. Its confusing and I doubt that enough users want to have others see his/her status but not see it themselves to warrent this feature. After all; you can always delete a contact later. (less widgets is good).

Oh, and a minor thing; the 2 label/textfield combinations should be in one groupbox so they line up.
