Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

In KDE you can use certain Skins that also use color-information. But there are certain things which can not be changed -or- which can be changed but have to be changed separately - in KDE applications!

Recently i changed my desktop to a dark design but applications like KATE (and therefore KWrite, KDevelop and so on...), Kopete and Konqueror have there own color-management which can not be accessed at a central point like KControl. Well, that's in general no bad thing - you may not wish to have a black background when editing a text-document although using a dark skin.
So I request the following feature: When changing a special color for example in kate (lets say the background-color) than you should be able to decide between "white" and "window-background-color" (which is a variable color and depends on the skin/design you're using). These color's should be set this way by default.
Same thing in Konqueror: You can specify the color for filenames, same thing here.

Regarding the Skins/Designs there is just another thing.. in Skins the background-color and/or background-image of KDesktop is saved. But i think there is one thing which is NOT saved into the design-file: It's the translucency / Color of Kicker ^^ (very important ;-] )

And at least there is just one more thing: One thing cannot be changed in color, the "popup"-informations (quickinfos) remain light-yellow. Very annoying using a dark design / color scheme.

You'll have to file bugs against individual apps that aren't behaving properly. This isn't something we can fix at a systemwide level. No free lunch I'm afraid!
