The collection browser has lost most of its functionality to me. I listen to music that is mostly composed by one person and performed by a variety of people, but the collection search browser doesn't let one search via the Composer tag.

Solution:
The collection browser could really benefit from an iTunes-style "select-your-search-fields" interface. In iTunes (and OS X email), the user is given the option of selecting (via push-down buttons, sort of like checkboxes) which fields they want to search through.

AmaroK could easily implement this functionality by having a pull-down menu with checked menu items; the collection search queries will only look through the selected fields.

( Fields to give the user option whether or not to search through:
Title, Album, Artist, Composer(!), (Lyricist, Arranger, Performer -- if ever implemented), Genre, Comments (very important! there are many reasons to search through comments), Filename )

** Infact, it would be much simpler to code by making this menu identical to the Show-Column menu you get by right-clicking the column headers in the playlist window. **

Hasn't lost any functionality at all, you just don't know where to look.

Also, Matt, please try and write simpler bug reports, they are so difficult to understand and decipher.

The solution to your problem, is to enable flat mode (change the view in the toolbar), then right click on the list view header to choose desired tag fields.

Oh, you're right; all I had to do was right-click the columns and show Composers, then it automatically searched through composers... Thank you; in retrospect, it was intuitive.

I'm sorry if you cannot interperet my bug writing easily, I'm just trying to be useful. I'll keep your advice in mind, although I do look over my bug reports 2-3 times before submitting them.
