Description Dmitry S. Makovey 2006-06-11 21:21:15 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.4.6 (Gentoo Hardened 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
OS: Linux

I recently received spam message that managed to crash KMail every time I tried to do something with it: either open it, or just select it with a bunch of other messages. I'll try to attach the message that gave me trouble (I ended up looking it up in the folder and physically removing it). I don't have any backtrace available, sorry - my compiled version doesn't produce backtraces.

Attachments can't be opened. Can you set the MIME type correctly for them?

Can you also paste (don't attach) the backtrace provided by Dr Konqi when KMail crashes?
Comment 4 Dmitry S. Makovey 2006-06-22 17:09:55 UTC
I don't have that message anymore, but it appears that I can open previous attachment just fine on my machine. I've just changed MIMETYPE for it. Don't know if it helps. Also my system runs "hardened" and "nodebug" which makes backtraces hard to get. At least as I specified before KDE doesn't generate any backtraces because of that. I understand perfectly that this complicates your troubleshooting but maybe somebody else can open it in their KMail and confirm the problem.

No crash in KMail r548000 for me.
Comment 6 Christophe Marin 2008-12-24 03:57:46 UTC
No backtrace (comment #3) and seems it couldn't be reproduced. Closing.
