Sentry Crash Report:

Description Maxilys 2006-06-09 03:59:50 UTC
Version: 2.6 (uses KDE 3.5.3) (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-default

I don't know if it's directly related to KMix or maybe KMilo but the volume OSD has disappeared since I updated to KDE 3.5.3. I mean the big grey dialog that used to appear in the center of the screen when I used the "multimedia" keys of my keyboard.

I used to find it ugly but now I miss it. I can only change the volume by ear. I miss the volume level expressed in number and there are no indication for mute/unmute either.

KMix is running, KMilo is running and I didn't deactivate the OSD since their is no such option AFAIK except by stopping KMilo. I don't even know where to look for a solution.

The volume OSD is created by KMilo => reassigning to KMilo

I have updated to KDE 3.5.4. It used to work with both volume keys, but now it only works with volume down key.

Nenad, please see Bug 129629
Comment 4 Christian Esken 2008-10-27 00:20:34 UTC
Volume display is done by KMix now => fixed

But the code should be removed from KMilo now. Thus I'll leave this bugreport open.

As this is fixed in KDE3, and in KDE4 the OSD is done directly by KMix => Fixed.
