Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-06-03 13:19:30 UTC
Version: 1.9.3 (using KDE 3.5.3 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE )

Hi!
OO complains that the attachment document in the temp folder does not exists.
after closing OO and clicking again on the attachment it always works.
Comment 1 Ingo Klöcker 2006-06-03 23:15:21 UTC
Works here. Unless you can give us a detailed description how to reproduce this bug reliably (preferably with a new user) there's not much we can do.

Do you use IMAP? If yes, does it work for messages in local folders? Do you "Load attachments on demand"? Does it make a difference?
Comment 2 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-06-06 11:30:32 UTC
* IMAP
* Load on demand is OFF

the problem is, that it happens ONLY the FIRST time after starting a session.
OO claims that it can't find the tmp file.

Comment 3 Thiago Macieira 2006-06-10 00:06:16 UTC
I've seen that. When you start OO.o when it was already running, the process will tell the running instance to open the file, then exit. This means KMail will probably remove the file before the running OO.o has had a chance to open it.
Comment 4 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-07-16 07:03:38 UTC
It has propably nothing to do with OO, but with the fact, that "download on demand" does not supply the document in time.

it happens to me quite sometimes that I "save" a document with size 0 i the first try.

But it always works fine, if I open the massage (in a new window).
Comment 5 Andreas Veithen 2006-11-05 12:48:31 UTC
I have exactly the same problem with KMail 1.9.5. Opening an attachment with OpenOffice fails with a "/tmp/... does not exist" error if (and only if) there is already an instance of OpenOffice running.
This is independant of the "Load attachments on demand" setting. I believe that Thiago Macieira's explanation (comment #3) is correct. Note that this problem is similar to the one described in Bug 94336.
Comment 6 Sebastian Reitenbach 2007-01-11 16:45:55 UTC
I have the same issue too, with KDE 3.5.5 and kmail 1.9.5, but it does not matter whether it is a *doc file or an openoffice document.
The first click on the attachment opens the openoffice error message, a second click on the attachment usually opens the attachment, but not always. The account is an dIMAP account.
Comment 7 Ferdinand Gassauer 2007-01-11 18:11:39 UTC
Seems now to work on SuSE 10.2 / KDE 3.5 SVN
Comment 8 Sebastian Reitenbach 2007-01-11 18:18:37 UTC
I have kde 3.5.5 (release) on SuSE 10.2, where the error happens, but I'll wait until 3.5.6 will be available.
