It would be nice to have some feedback when kopete is connecting to a server. Something like an animated icon (a la msn) or a series of strings in the status bar, e.g. looking up host, logging in, waiting for reply etc. I consider this useful especially since kopete is slow to start up: this way we will be able to immediately know if kopete has frozen because of an 'internal' or is just slow due to a server having problems.

We have the animations for every protocol. I don't think that this a good idea, since there would be nowhere to display the progress, especially when many protocols are connecting at once. The status bar is already used by the online status.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
