Various permutations of this request date back to 2002 (bug 38526).  Is there a technical reason that previous/next buttons are not available for the toolbar in message view?  (Although an "about KDE" button is available.)

Sometimes I want to read messages fullscreen instead of in the preview window, and I have no way of navigating from one message to the next without closing the message view window to do so.
