crash report when i reproduced the bug
I have the exact same problem. Amarok uses arts just fine, but as soon as I try to use kaffeine to play anything using arts it segfaults. Selecting oss as output device and "killall artsd" works but is of course no real solution. (KDE 3.5.2 on Ubuntu breezy / amd64) Me too. AMD64 Gentoo # kaffeine -v Qt: 3.3.6 KDE: 3.5.2 Kaffeine Player: 0.8.2 (arts with 48khz frequency locked using oss is the only thing that works on nforce4 spdif so without arts, i have no sound at all...) I am running kaffeine 0.8.2 on my new home-built AMD64 machine under Debian Etch. Unfortunately, every time I press the #1 button (PLAY PLAYLIST), kaffeine crashes with a signal 11 (SIGSEGV) message. The crash handler tells me that no backtrace is possible. Same happens to me on FC6: Qt: 3.3.7 KDE: 3.5.5-0.2.fc6 Fedora-Core Kaffeine Player: 0.8.3 Mandriva bug report: http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=26926 Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed. Thanks |
