Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

Run the program. Start composing mail. Try to quit. There should be warning dialog, right? Cancel.

Now, power-off the computer. No warnings, no questions.

Could you confirm exactly what you mean by "power off"?

(a) exit the KDE session using one of the "log out" options
(b) kill the X-server (ctrl-alt-BS, "init 2" or similar)
(c) shut down the computer ("halt" or "shutdown")
(d) turn off the power switch

There is very little chance that any application would be able to detect and confirm for any of these, other than possibly the first.

(d). But I doubt there is difference for an app between (a) and (d).

Other apps are able to detect this. Not that small chance after all :-)

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
