Description Mark Dickie 2006-05-09 01:54:45 UTC
Version: 0.11.1 (using KDE 3.5.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
OS: Linux (ppc) release 2.6.16-gentoo-r6

When receiving webcam from someone the image is garbled. The background is green and the image is broken into red, yellow and green squares. This doesn't happen when I send my webcam view to other people. I have tested it with all my MSN contacts who are using different versions of MSN and different webcams. All show the same behaviour.

Does you have this problem with all of your contacts ?

or only with contacts from a certain clients ?

Is there any special thing we should now.
it looks to me like a problem in libmimic.

After re-installing on my new machine I no longer have this problem so it must have been my install on the old machine. Very sorry to waste your time with this. Webcam images on MSN are now perfect.

I have the same problem but I can't resolve it. I think it's a problem in powerpc architecture because I have the same problem with amsn. Is your new machine a powerpc ?
Comment 5 kaderno 2007-03-26 19:38:11 UTC
Sorry, I'm using Debian Sid with KDE 3.5.5 in powerpc with gcc 4.1

I've the same problem with KDE 3.5.7 - powerpc machine also. Couldn't this be related with X.org video driver (ati picks radeon) ?

Just found out that amsn showed the same behaviour (also libmimic related) and they've a fix for this on their svn for some days now. Please read:
