This would be the same as the option in Outlook that allows the current message to be automatically closed when the reply button is pressed.
Just a little thing that would aid Kmail's usability. Thanks.

This is implemented for KMail 2, see https://issues.kolab.org/issue4044 for details.

Ok, thanks for the info. I suppose that is better than nothing which is what I've had for the past 4 years!
