Version:           3.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Debian Package 4:3.4.1-1 (3.1))
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-kanotix-11

When search for *kvtml with kfind, invoked from shell, i could see all files in subdirectories. If i do the same from konqueror, i doesn't. No problem with konquerer as user root. 

Now i did the same search with 
   find /home/<username> \*kvtml

... and found there is a permission denied in the first row of the search-results. I suggest thats the reason why kfind/konqueror stops search.

So this is correct behaviour as you had no permission searching further down in the directory hierarchy.

Agree that I cannot find files where is no permission. But problem is that kfind stops searching imediately. Doesn't matter what with the other files with correct permissions.

KFind-Konqueror integration was removed in KDE SC 4 due the lack of manpower to port it (no maintainer)
