What are compiz plugins? What do they do? What dependencies do they bring? Why should they be loaded by the window manager? Hi Thiago, here are the informations about the plugins: http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz and http://en.opensuse.org/Using_Xgl_on_SUSE_Linux#Using_compiz_as_your_window_manager All effects and features for XGL are plugins for the compiz-windowmanager. So you can rotate your desktop or resized very fast and beautiful. Thanks Victor for your research! As far as dependencies go, compiz itself stores parameters in the gconf "registry" (eeek). It as to be investigated whether compiz takes these parameters and passes them to the plugins on load, or if it's the plugins that access gconf themselves (which would be less optimal for kde, to say the least). Your contributions are welcome. |
