the chatwindow doesn't use the custom aliases for the metacontact on purpose. If this is different from how a normal IM behaves (i.e. you and one other person messaging back and forth) then we need to normalize the behavior. also, what list are you talking about? When remote messaging parties are displayed in a normal IM, their custom alias is used which is different from the group chat. I would hope that if a custom alias is defined, the custom alias is always be used. What I described poorly above was actually referring to the list of chat members that appear to the side of the chat area. This list does not use the custom aliases either. Again, I would hope that if a custom alias is defined, its always used. -andre. *** Bug 135748 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I can confirm this for MSN, too (see the bug that got marked as dupe). It's quite annoying because in that place you have little room so it would be very useful to have the aliasses there. Regards, Thomas Confirmed in trunk r828808. The participants list shows usernames, not nicknames. I spoke with mattr on IRC, and he said this is incorrect -- we should be using names "as human-readable as possible in most circumstances". Hello from the KDE Bugsquad! Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete. Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo. |
