Currently, there is no way to remove links to network folders in remote:/ via the context menu, which might be irritating. I needed quite some time to find the option in the Edit menu. Please add such a context menu entry.

This report is quite old. In KDE SC 4.8 RC1 (or ever earlier versions), I can remove network folder through the 'Delete' entry within context menu or 'Del' key in Konqueror.
