I run a multiuser system with LTSP terminals (applications are running on a server). The server is also used from time to time, and whenever a new CD is inserted in the drive all logged in users (running KDE) get a notification about it on the screen. I have no idea how to solve it, but this is annoying and somewhat a privacy risk.

Oh, I know that it is not a kded bug, but had no idea where to file it and the media manager is started by kded. ;-)

This bug is now getting 13 months old.

Is there anything happening with regard to multiple users sharing one computer simultaneously?

This component is gone in KDE4. Besides this should probably be handled by making KDE talk to ConsoleKit.
