Description Dragan Espenschied 2006-04-02 10:42:44 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu0 breezy)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-10-686

I am using the Kubuntu distribution and istalled English, German and French dictionaries. Now when i am composing messages, i can switch between dozens of variants of the these languages: With "common", Canada, UK, Austrian, Swiss, and all of them "with accents" or "without accents". It is really getting in the way of changing spell checking languages in the composer window. I have to switch between English and German mostly and it takes kilometres of scrolling in the popup menu to do that.

And i found no way to uninstall the variants i do not need.

I would suggest to give a configuration option on which spell checking languages and variants should be included in the menu.

I think it would be cool when the right language would be selected depending on the recipient.
I'm afraid one would need an additional entry in the addressbook that says 'preferred language'.

To have the right language chosen per recipient would be amazingly practical!
