Works here. Steps to demonstrate: 1. Create new folder 2. In the new folder, create new files called "#foo" and "bar". 3. Make sure sorting is "Sort by Name" 4. "#foo" is displayed before "bar" What happens when you run the same steps? (SVN r519476 on FreeBSD) well doesnt work here # are simply ignored Some discussion on IRC suggests that it might be related to locale settings. What are your country/language settings? (And of course, the example I suggested to try is stupid, because I didn't specify whether the sort is ascending or descending) your right my locale is set at en_US putting it to C fix that, look like all ponctuation and giggle are ignored when using en_US or other locale, i could close that actually but shouldnt that work even when using some locale ? It's up to the locale to say whether certain characters should be ignored or not. For instance, the Portuguese locale will sort e, ê, é together, as if they were the same letter. Dutch (in some cases) will sort Y as if it were IJ. |
