Yes, all filter like refocus, sharpen, blur, unsharp etc. are apply to the entire image not on current selection. This working like this because applying blur filter for example using a simple rectangle selection can give strange effect in rectangle border. I think that a new selection tool using point array to provide a complex selection is more appropriate for that. But this tool doesn't yet exit. There a file in B.K.O about. Vote for it if it's that you want... Gilles Caulier I guess you are right. I was going to blur the numbers on the plates of my car before i put the images on the net, so i didnt really care if that part of the image became a bit weird, because it would look "weird" nomatter what with some blur in the middle of the image. I just expected the blur to work that way but i think you are right, in 9/10 cases it will look weird. Ok I close this report.
