Description Dik Takken 2006-03-12 12:03:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

It is not always possible to allow users to write in the root of each partition. The result is that when a file is trashed, it is copied to the users home directory. This can lead to several problems:

* Trashing large files can take a *long* time.
* The home partition can get slow because the trashed files fill all the free space on it.
* Trashing can fail when the home partition has insufficient free diskspace.

I would like KDE to warn the user when trashing large file(s) to another partition. The warning should ask the user if the file should really be trashed (slow), or if it can be deleted (fast).
