Compiler:          gcc version 3.4.5 (Gentoo 3.4.5, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)

If you have similar address like foo@bar.com with NO gpg-key and ffoo@bar.com WITH gpg-key there is a problem with the encryption dialog:

try to send a email to foo@bar.com and kmail always wants to encrypt the message with the gpg-key of the ffoo@bar.com (tested with OpenPGP backend)

Error still present in Kmail 1.11.4, KDE 4.2.4.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
