Description Victor-Philipp Busch 2006-03-05 21:30:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I like the konsole and I work everyday with it. I open twenty sessions and I use a lot of ssh-sessions then. But it would be nice, if konsole would automatically rename the sessions after the ssh or telnet command or the remote hostnames. Is that possible?

Konsole can't do that. But your ssh/telnet/remote bash can.

Just configure it.

Hm, I post a wish and you wrote that the konsole can't automatically rename the sliders to the remote hosts. It seems to be a tautology. But this was not my wish. My wish is to change that actual state.

It would be a workaround, if I can set an variable-name on every konsole-slider and the bash (by the way: I used the tcsh only) can export his variables to the konsole. Is that possible?

You can use bash/tcsh/whatever to set the Konsole title or session tab name.

But Konsole cannot *detect* the command or the hostname you're ssh'ing into. You're supposed to tell Konsole.
