Hi all,

I have following problem with the signature checking/ decryption of PGP/MIME mails.

After starting kmail I start useing PGP/MIME for some messages (the number varies) and then it stops working. With error "Wrong Crypto Plug-In." (See objecttreeparser.cpp).

When this happens I cant use signutures / encryption anymore, even for sending and also for inline PGP. This fails with the error message "You have requested to sign this message, but no valid signing keys have been configured for this identity." (messagecomposer.cpp).

Trying to configure the identities also fails with "An error occurred while fetching the certificates from the backend: General error" (certmanager.cpp/keyrequester.cpp/keyselectiondialog.cpp)

Restarting Kmail solves the problem for a while.

Looks like memory corruption, but I've been using signing and encrypting for years on long-running KMail/Kontact sessions and I've never seen this happen.

Yes, it worked for me also. But around December 2005 I first noticed it. First I thought that it can happen.

I have a rather similar problem in kmail KMail Version 1.12.2 (KDE 4.3.2 ubuntu-karmic beta)

I can crypt mails, but i cannot sign them !
kmail complains about no valid key or wrong pass phrase.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
