Reposting bugs is a wrong way to get it fixed. Disable autocompletion from search box by right click -> text completion -> none if you don't like it. Hi, Nevertheless there is still some erratic behaviour in the search bar. If if it doesn't find anything to do the autocomplete with, the cursor keeps jumping to the end of whatever you have already written. This means that it is impossible to change the search string if your changes are not in the end of the string. Please reopen as this is IMO really a bug. In similar scenarios in other areas of KDE (e.g. KNotes), autocompletion works the right way by *selecting* the autocompleted text sothat the user can quickly overwrite it if necessary. The current solution renders this function almost useless as there is a race condition between the user and the computer, which is 100% a usability bug and should be addressed professionally. Konqueror is the only application (even inside KDE) that handles autocompletion this way and this should IMO change for the better (99% of the other application designers cannot be wrong?) Turning off autocomplete now, dark flash backs of MS Word keep coming up... |
