Description Hugh Warrington 2006-02-14 21:06:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.4.3
OS: Linux

If I'm working in the terminal embedded in Kate, when I press Shift+Insert the clipboard is pasted into the document rather than the terminal. Focus remains in the terminal (i.e. subsequent key presses go to the terminal).
Comment 1 Marijn Schouten 2006-04-20 14:56:53 UTC
confirmed kde 3.5.2 kate 2.5.2 on gentoo.

Can confirm with KDE 3.5.4 FreeBSD 6.1
Comment 4 Dominik Haumann 2006-11-22 14:19:37 UTC
Try: Settings > Configure Shortcuts and remove the shortcut SHIFT+INSERT for "Paste".
Comment 5 Anders Lund 2006-11-22 20:30:26 UTC
Maybe the editor views should refuse all editing shortcuts when not in focus?
In fact i thought it did?
Comment 6 Dominik Haumann 2006-11-22 20:55:41 UTC
haven't even tried it myself. if the katepart shortcuts are application wide, then this is maybe indeed wrong?!

I think they are all canseled in the unfocus event, but it's been a while
since i looked in those files. somewhere in kateview or kateviewinternal

In KOrganizer, the title of a new event doesn't accept shift-insert. Control-v works. Are both supposed to work ?
Comment 9 Bogdan Timofte 2007-07-28 09:00:56 UTC
confirmed kde 3.5.7 kate 2.5.7 Fedora.
Comment 10 Ivo Anjo 2007-12-11 20:03:36 UTC
I agree this is annoying, and I just tried it now with kde4 kate, and IT'S FIXED :)

So, someone should close this one.
Comment 11 Dominik Haumann 2007-12-11 21:36:52 UTC
fixed in kde4.
