Version:           1.2.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.1-0ubuntu5 dapper)
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu

akregator does not display the animated progress bar (lower right corner) when akregator was loaded as part of a session restore. When you start akregator manually the progress bar is shown as it should during feed update.

I've got this problem too. It exist for a while in akregator.

I retestet it, and it is not fixed in the latest ubuntu packages (KDE 3.5.4)

Also happens with Debian testing/unstable packages.

Akregator 1.3.3 doesn't show this progress bar at all.

True, the progress bar is completely gone now so this bug no longer applies. Marking as "FIXED" because there's no viable alternative :)
