Description Trent Lloyd 2006-02-09 15:16:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: gcc 4
OS: Linux

With MSN, if somebody has a HTML special character, e.g. a < (<) in their nickname/friendly name, it is displayed correctly in the buddy list and chat window title.

However in the chat window, it shows up as a <

e.g. I have a friend whos name is '/<ieran`' and in the chat window it shows up as '/<ieran`

In addition, the popup from the systme tray "You have received a message from <X>" only shows "/" and nothing after the <

I cannot reproduce.
What style are you using ?
Comment 2 Yann LE HIR 2006-02-10 19:35:35 UTC
I've got the same problem here using Kopete style
Using kde 3.5.1, kopete 0.11.1, gcc 3.4.4 on gentoo

This may hve nothing to do with the current bug, but Kopete neither shows emoticones in nickname in the chat window

I took the SVN version (0.11.91) yesterday, it solves the problem of HTML special character.

Fixed in the upcoming 0.12 (an alpha release is available if you want to test). If it's still reproducable there, we can reopen.
