Description Antonin Beauxis 2006-02-07 15:09:41 UTC
Version: 0.11 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I try to setup accounts or identity, in the menu settings -> "setup" (I don't know if it's the exact name in english because I have a french version) but the screen freeze and I can't do anything else but reset manually.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any log which describe it, but it's quite disturbing because I can't delete or add account, change appearance or setup webcam anymore.
I have this problem on a Kubuntu Breezy distrib (family home), and I don't have it on my own PC which has a Debian one.
According to my sister, it's been only since last sunday, and i made an apt-get upgrade last sunday. But Kopete was not upgraded, it was 0.11 already. So I guess it's libraries but I couldn't find what that was.

We cannot determine the source of the problem without more information.
(It works fine here)

my kopete freeze and crash on its own. I brought up my system load to 10, just now. when I chat, every time I receive message, it freeze, preventing me from typing or scrolling.

i'm just thinking it could be same but but settings->setup menu is unrelated...

It's not the same, in my case, that wasn't a problem with kopete, but a problem with my webcam's driver. So when it showed the webcam image in setup, it was freezing the computer.
