Version:           1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.0, Mandriva Linux Cooker x86_64 - Cooker)

I removed a Imap account while kmail was getting emails. This freezes the downloading process (not the program). I tried to press the cancel button to stop it but it didn't close.

KDE 3.5 is unmaintained. The behaviours has not improved since. Look at bug #206877
