I would appreceate that also chat windows can get hidden from taskbar and I would like to have access to them through SystemTray icon.

The windows-programm Trillian does it like that.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
