Version:           1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, PLD Linux Distribution)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.6 (PLD Linux)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.14

When I start KMail and there is mail on IMAP server which is not new but still unread KMail displays notification (on taskbar) with info about new mail.

It also changes everything back to New when checking the account, so technically it's actually correct to report new email :-P

Cannot reproduce in KDE 4.3
