I regularly use kmailcvt to import files from a USB key (I author e-mails on another computer, then copy them over to the Internet-connected machine). To import them into kmail, I use kmailcvt.

kmailcvt refuses to accept media:/ URLs, complaining that they are non-local. However, they often (always?) aren't (e.g. on my machine+key media:/sda/ is just /media/usbdisk1/). It seems that kmailcvt lacks the relevant functions to convert media:/ URLs (and system:/ ones) to the local filesystem location. It would be good to either fix that, or in fact recode it so that it is completely kioslave friendly (i.e. whether truly local or not - why can't I import files over FTP?).

I can't reproduce the problem with media:/ with KDE: 3.5.4 Level "a"/KMail: 1.9.4 ... could you check this with current KDE/KMail and add a plan how to reproduce this?

Same for me - now works. (kmailcvt now appears to translate to a location in the filesystem and uses that).
