Version:           0.11 (using KDE 3.5.0, Debian Package 4:3.5.0-3 (testing/unstable))
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu

When writing in IRC all my writings got underlined (couldn't be seen by other participants in IRC channel, but still bothering to me). I didn't ask it (I may press Ctrl-U by mistake), but there does not seem to be way how to switch it off -- underline in menu is still selected and text is still underlined no matter how much I try to switch it off (both with Ctrl-U and via menu).

BTW, shouldn't be all formating (bold, undrelined, italic) just switched off for IRC?

IRC is capable of rich text formatting, so why should we turn it off?

In KDE 4 you can disable rich text in Kopete, though IRC isn't there yet.
