Well... I just noticed that the searchbar has disappeared... so I am sorry for the "false alert". That's strange, as I did try to restart konqi, and it didn't make a difference at once, so I really don't know what has happened.
Anyway, I don't mark the bug as "resolved" as the behavior of the searchbar under the action of the "configure toolbars" menu isn't what it should be : as I said above,
>I remove the search action from the search bar, click "Apply",
>the searchbar disappears, but then it instantly re-appears.
Ben
Not a bug. The proper way is to turn the plugin off in the Configure Extensions menu. No, this is a bug. When I load up Konq from a fresh upgrade, and I see this: http://thock.com/bugs/KDE-352-konq-scaled.png Well, you know that's not good. When I use the normal "configure toolbars" route (and people suggest this to me when troubleshooting), and no mention is made that extension bars can also cause issue, well, that's not good. This isn't a technical bug. However, this is a valid bug that exists -- it makes no sense! Much like Chewbacca, why must my extra toolbar settings be elsewhere? A wookie on Endor makes no sense! Having these settings, which I didn't know about, elsewhere without a hint is totally odd -- at least if those were on a different line, I could maybe figure it out. |
