Description Oliver Grimm 2006-01-09 02:01:56 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS:                Linux

To see what this is about

- start a KDE application, e.g. Kate, Kile, ...
- choose file -> open
- use the mouse to click the screwdriver symbol (settings)
- in the menu that pops up, there is no way to change the short keys for navigation. Especially I am missing a key change for "go up".

Please make it possible to change the keys for the standard file dialog SOMEwhere in KDE. Putting it into the settings menu within the dialog would be best.

The reason for this is that I always prefer navigating dialogs by keyboard. But the shortkeys for the file dialog are far from anything I know from Konqueror or Krusader. If you'd make it possible to change the shortkeys to suit my needs it would be a great improvement in terms of usability.

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.
