Description F Reifenstahl 2006-01-04 17:46:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.0 Level "a" , SUSE 10.0 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15.7-default

I don't know whether I've chosen the right app, but I want bookmarks for files not only dirs in the kde generic file selection dialogue.
Comment 1 F Reifenstahl 2006-01-04 17:50:49 UTC
After saving this KDEs BTS shows "kdevelop" as product. That wasn't what I wanted to get on searching for the file dialog. Maybe I am wrong, so somebody might forward that wish to where it should be placed.
Comment 2 Christoph Feck 2009-08-27 02:37:08 UTC
Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.
Comment 3 Ahmad Samir 2021-07-26 21:31:32 UTC
It looks like the xdg spec only supports bookmarks to directories: https://specifications.freedesktop.org/recent-file-spec/recent-file-spec-0.2.html
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2021-07-27 14:32:55 UTC
Indeed. We could do a KDE-specific thing the way GNOME did when they implemented this feature in Nautilus, but that would probably not be very nice. Better to get a cross-desktop spec for it first.
Comment 5 Ahmad Samir 2021-07-27 14:55:34 UTC
I've tested with nautilus, I couldn't add a bookmark for a file to the side panel, only dirs.
Comment 6 Nate Graham 2021-07-27 14:59:49 UTC
Ah no, they have a "starred files" feature which makes files you've starred show up in a special view. I guess it's different from this.
