Sentry Crash Report:

Description Dirk Stoecker 2006-01-03 17:45:01 UTC
Version: 0.11 (using KDE 3.5.0 Level "a" , SUSE 10.0 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15.7-default

The kopete-old chatwindow style shows the date, when a message is not from current day or to old. The new kopete style does not do this and thus is less informative without any good reason.
Comment 1 Matt Rogers 2006-02-01 01:58:17 UTC
styles have changed completely for 0.12.
Comment 2 Dirk Stoecker 2006-09-20 08:19:06 UTC
In kopete 0.12.2 with the new styles it's the same (now for all styles I would say).

a) Only the time is displayed and not the date. This is ok for one day, but messages from the day before should get day information.

b) The Message grouping hides the time information of the following messages as well (These can be differences of multiple days).

Comment 4 Dirk Stoecker 2021-03-10 07:13:37 UTC
I switched to another software years ago which not asks after 5 years if the bug still happens instead of fixing it.
Comment 5 Christoph Cullmann 2024-09-18 18:27:42 UTC
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
