Description David Faure 2005-12-27 14:00:55 UTC
I switched from ksirc to konversation and I like many things in konversation,
but the main thing I miss from ksirc is notification that would tell me that
someone talked to me when I come back to the computer after 1 hour of absence.

The OSD notification can only last up to 10s - maybe a simple solution would be
to be able to configure an unlimited time for it?

The ksirc solution is:
1) a different icon or color on the tab of a channel/query when someone talks
to me (is this configurable in konversation? I didn't find it); and that color
only goes away when activating that tab to read the channel/query.
2) an icon in kicker's systray that blinks (alternates between two pixmaps with
a timer) as long as there is at least one such tab with a "line for me" status.

I would like to request especially 1), which would be a good thing to have in
any case.

Hi,
If you have highlight on own nick enabled then it should change colour of thee text of the tab until you click on it....

I have "always highlight own current nick" set, with a blue color,
but the tab colors become blue whenever someone speaks anyway,
so I can't tell the difference... Where can I make the tab colors not blue
when it's just people talking to each other? I have removed all blues
from Appearance/Colors but that's apparently just for the text anyway,
not for the tabs.

Ah indeed. I have highlight red, and just ignore the blue. Looks like it's not currently possible to disable the blue on any activity.. also personally I think an infinite (or at least significantly longer than 10s) timeout on the OSD would be handy.

Fixed by landing of new tab notifications preferences page.
