Is it possible to have kmail be able to re-index its folders?

I have two secretaries. I want which ever of them isn't busy
to get the mail in the morning and sort it into individual
folders. So I created a shared Mail folder and
set permissions with setfacl:
setfacl -m:secretary1:rw -m:secretary2:rw Mail/inbox
and simply symlinked from ~/Mail to SharedMail

I wanted to copy their individual home Mail folders into
the new shared Mail folder. But the copied mail doesn't show
up in kmail and I don't know how to get kmail to reindex.
So I ended up having to forward all the mail from each
secretary back to myself again so that it would appear in
kmail. Which seems like an awkward solution. I also looked
in vain for an export button, thinking I could roll the
mail into some mail format and then re-import the mail to
the new SharedMail.

Thanks.

I recommend you to use an IMAP server to store your messages on. There you
can create shared folders easily.
The scenario described by you is exactly what IMAP is designed for.

There are cases where it would be fine t rebuild the index in KMail, though.
But in your case such a solution wouldn't fit.

Yes, there is an option in the folder properties
