Description Matthew Bonner 2005-12-12 14:02:23 UTC
Version: 1.9 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.3.4
OS: Linux

After enabling then disabling the threaded message list view, previously threaded emails are still shown as threaded.
Restarting Kontact/KMail has no effect: the emails stay threaded.
Comment 1 Matthew Bonner 2006-01-30 06:15:31 UTC
As further info, KMail adds Thread-Topic and Thread-Index fields to email message files but doesn't remove them when threading is turned off. As much as I dislike suggesting changes instead of actually doing them (C++ isn't a field of expertise at current), a separate threads/ folder could be the simplest fix. Then this folder could be deleted/ignored when threading is disabled.

Opposite bug here: gcc-4.1.0 , kde-3.5.3 , I can see messages unthreaded but
there isn't any way to view threaded. It's caused by my local settings
(language is not the standard en language, however mails response are marked by RE: in the subject as it should be....)
Comment 3 Matteo Azzali 2006-06-04 02:39:42 UTC
hum, my issue can be solved disabling "thread messages for subject and object"
in Folder menu.

Behaviour is that if both the thread options in folder menu are marked on,
none of them work.....

For me, that works fine.
Comment 5 Martin Koller 2009-08-05 20:13:39 UTC
in kmail/KDE4 the message list view was complete rewritten, including a lot sort of different threading/non threading views.
If this problem can still be encountered with KDE 4.3, please open a new report.
