Description Giovanni Venturi 2005-12-07 21:54:19 UTC
Version: sconosciuto (using KDE 3.4.3, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14.3

When I try to copy more than 8000 messages into another mail folder KMail freezes and come back when operation is ended.
The same problem is with the deleting more than 8000 messages. I had in the trash mail folder more than 8000 messages so I made "clean trash" but KMail freezes for all the time, so I closed it and retryed more times to repeat the operation, but it freezes so I closed KMail and removed manually all the email from the trash mail folder: rm * .

I can confirm this. Right now it is still busy deleting some 70,000 spam mails from a local folder that have been piled up over the weeks. This would all be funny if I started the deletion some seconds ago, but I started it some hours ago.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
