So I enabled removing line-ending whitespace characters, but they are only removed from the editbox if explicitly reloading. They should be removed at once when saving without the need to reload the file.

and also, line-ending whitespaces should be removed when cursor leaves the line

This bug seems to be new in KDE 3.5 (as compared to 3.4.3).
Also occurs at my place with Kubuntu packages.

Concerning comment #2, this is a wishlist item which should be filed in a different bug report. Please don't mix the bug and the wish into one bug.

This is marked a wish, but imho, this is a bug because it's unintentional and has worked in KDE 3.4.* before!

For some reason the code that removed all trailing space during editing was removed.

The current functionality only removes trailing whitespace on a line when you leave it by hitting RET, irrc.

The function you use is a filter that removes trailing whitespace from the text that is written to disk, but since this seems to frustrate many people, maybe we should fix this.
