Version: 1.8.3 (using KDE 3.4.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.13-gentoo-r2

The taskbar entry mail notification is very useful as it tells you the number of new mails you have.

It does, however, only count mails in the folders that are currently not selected.

For example if there are 3 new mails in 'Inbox' and 4 new mails in 'Work', it will show 3 if 'Work' is selected, 4 if 'Inbox' is selected and 7 if some other folder is selected.

This can be annoying as no notification will arrive for mails that arrive in the Inbox, when it is selected --- a very common occurance.

This doesn't appear to be a bug anymore with KMail 1.11.0
