Description Derek Broughton 2005-11-23 21:06:59 UTC
Version: 1.9 (using KDE 3.5 (RC1), Kubuntu Package 4:3.5-rc1-0ubuntu0breezy1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-9-686

Previously, if I started Kontact, I could start KMail separately. Since 1.9 (and KDE 3.5 RC) at any time that Kontact is active, KMail only starts inside Kontact.

This is wrong - if I wanted it in kontact, I'd just have switched to it on the Kontact taskbar.

Currently Kmail is quite unstable (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113730) and I'd prefer it not bring down kontact - thus messing up my knode folders - every time Kmail crashes.

Not being able to run KMail standalone and Kontact simultaneously is a limitation. I'd classify it as a wish rather than a bug.

Comment 2 Derek Broughton 2006-02-08 13:50:13 UTC
It was never a limitation in previous versions, why should it be a limitation now? It's still a bug.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
