Description Sean Lynch 2005-11-22 06:11:41 UTC
Version: 1.9 (using KDE 3.5 (RC1), Kubuntu Package 4:3.5-rc1-0ubuntu0breezy1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-9-686

When I right click on the quick search field at the top (enabled via Settings -> Show Quick Search), there are the columns which I currently have available, as well as an odd 'Column 2' listed. Its shown as selected if the top 'All visible columns' is select, but if I uncheck it and try to check just Column 2.. it doesn't change the selection.

I'm not sure what its supposed to represent, but figure it may be a case of a copy/paste coding error.

Can not reproduce in KMail from KDE 3.5.5, do you still have this problem?
Comment 2 Sean Lynch 2006-10-28 19:20:11 UTC
I still see this problem in a fresh install of Kubuntu Edgy (KDE 3.5.5 / Kmail 1.9.5)

Interesting as i'm using Edgy too :-D

Are you using the english locale or some translation? Inside kontact or as standalone application?

I am using the english locale.. and I see this both from Kontact (my preferred
method) and just standalone Kmail

Can confirm, these are columsn which don't really have a name but only used to display a (status) icon.
Comment 6 Jaime Torres 2008-09-18 15:42:21 UTC
In kmail 1.10.1, the quick search is always enabled with only one field.
Comment 7 Thomas McGuire 2009-08-23 19:44:19 UTC
Fixed now, as this entry is no longer available in the context menu with KDE 4.2.
